Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Tutors Salaries And Allowances In Kenya.

The Technical and Vocational Education Training ( TVET) is under the Public Service Commission (PSC) as it was removed from the Teachers Service Commission due to tough TSC recruitment requirements.

Qualifications of Trainers who undergo career progression in TVET are not recognized by TSC. The commission can’t hire a tutor who holds a higher national diploma and had a mean grade of C minus in KCSE.

Salaries and allowances are as follows.

Technical and vocational trainers are under Job group K. Salaries of these workers range from ksh.35,400 to 46,230 per month which is the permanent and pensionable job.

House allowance is per prevailing civil servant rate and commuter allowance is ksh.6,000 per month, Annual leave allowance of Ksh 5,000, and entitled leave of 30 working days per year.

Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET)

On the other hand Assistant vocational and technical trainer fall under job group J who are employed permanent and in pensionable terms

Their salaries range from ksh.29,190 to Ksh. 34,440 and house allowance is as per civil servant rates. While they are given a commuter allowance of Ksh.4,000 per month and an annual leave allowance of 4,000 per month. Also entitled to 30 working days leave per year.
