Embakasi West MP George Theuri says he is fully confident that his pledge of a cabro road to residents of Umoja II will be fulfilled in three weeks’ time.
The lawmaker spoke on Sunday morning while addressing residents after an inspection tour of the site.
“I’m here to ensure that the cabro road stretching from Umoja II stage up to St Veronica Catholic Church is delivered within the three weeks that I had promised. I’m impressed with the progress so far,” said Theuri.
The project, which is on its sixth day, is part of the Embakasi West Constituency KERRA Budget for the financial year 2019-2020.
The road is being done at the same time as one at Mutarakwa in Kariobangi South that begins from Stage 56 and ends at a bridge that connects the area to Dr. Mwenje Secondary School. The MP unveiled the project to the public last Tuesday at a meeting with residents which was attended by area MCA Robert Mbatia.
Umoja II stands to benefit from yet another project this year as the MP revealed plans to tarmac the remaining part of a road that had been left incomplete last year owing to budget constraints. The road which stretches from a bus stop at the entrance of Busara Primary School, had been tarmacked up-to Peter Kibukosya Primary School.
The contractor will now work on the final stretch that will extend to Zone I.
“I urge everyone to cooperate with the contractor as we work on these roads.”
Umoja II residents have expressed appreciation for the work done so far saying they now had faith the project would be delivered within the stipulated timeframe. They have requested the MP and area MCA Hon Joseph O Ndonji to continue working together for the good of the community.
