A 55-year-old woman who was caught red-handed being banged by her pastor now says she was tempted into the affair after her husband denied her sex for several days.
The woman, Jane Omwaga, who spoke on Tuesday July 7, after a section of Luhya elders performed cleansing rituals on her, is from Elukho Village in Lurambi Constituency, Kakamega County.
She was caught engaging in sexual intercourse with the pastor on Monday, July 6.
The elders instructed her and her 52-year-old lover, Moses Olutatwa, to offer a cow each, which would be used in the cleansing ceremony.
Jackson Makale, one of the elders, said that the act of offering a cow each, would shield the wrongdoers’ families against misfortunes such as mysterious ailments or even deaths.
Jane’s husband, Josephat Omwaga, a security guard at a local market, returned home unannounced at dawn and caught his wife in bed with Olutatwa, who is a pastor at the Solid Rock for Jesus Christ Church in Lurambi, where Jane fellowships.
After the ensuing brief scuffle, Olutatwa vanished on foot, having abandoned his motorcycle and some of his clothes.
Jane has since lashed out at 59-year-old husband, for falling short of fulfilling his sexual and financial obligations, consequently pushing her into the arms of Pastor Olutatwa.
“The pastor came to my home at 5 am and knocked on my door, I let him in. We spent some time telling stories before we hoped into bed. We got cozy and warm, and shortly thereafter, my husband knocked on the door.”
The pastor and I leaped out of bed. I, opened the backdoor for Olutatwa to escape. However, my husband managed to open the main door and got in before the pastor could get far. Olutatwa managed to pass through a barbed wire fence as my husband chased him with a panga in his hands,” Jane said.
“The pastor has been making suggestive moves recently, saying he wants me, both emotionally and sexually. Since he showed that he had my interest at heart — by offering me financial and emotional support — I decided to allow him have sex with me. It was the first time he and I were getting intimat.”
“My husband’s constant insecurity that I was cheating on him also pushed me to actually do it.”
The woman’s husband, on his part, said he won’t forgive his wife of at least 20 years for cheating on him.
“Had I busted my wife having sex with the pastor in a sugarcane plantation or maize plantation, I would have forgiven her. However, she chose to disrespect me by bringing another man to our matrimonial bed, that is the highest level of disrespect, and I won’t tolerate it. I have made it clear to my spouse that I am divorcing her, and I would, thereafter, sell the parcel of land where our matrimonial home sits on, and relocate elsewhere,” said the heartbroken Mzee Omwaga.
The couple have three children. Jane is now putting up with her parents in Khwisero Constituency, Kakamega County after the incident.
