Jowie who was directly involved in the murder and five others is not in cells as it is supposed to be. Irungu was spotted at a joint in Karen in a company of other ladies having fun.
Jowie is supposed to be detained by police pending hearing at the court. He was thrust into the limelight as Jacque Maribe’s soon to be hubby after he proposed in a very public affair. In attendance were Jacque’s pals and work colleagues.
Months later he was embroiled in a crime that has shaken the nation to its core. Jowi Irungu is in custody as the prime suspect in the murder of Monica Kimani in Kilimani, Nairobi.
The RECCE squad officer arrested by the police in connection with the murder probe linking TV Journalist Jacque Maribe and her fiancé Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu had told police that Irungu went to the house of the killed woman Monicah Kimani.
Jennings Orlando, told the police he did not accompany Irungu alias Jowie to the house of Monicah in Kilimani, the night before her body was discovered dead in her house.
Orlando, who initially denied any knowledge of the incident, changed his position at the weekend and told the investigators how he met Jowie at a bar in Nairobi before he (Jowie) went to the house of Monicah.
Sources familiar with the investigations said the policeman and Irungu had a meeting in Nairobi on September 19th. Orlando told homicide investigators that Irungu had called him from his place of work in Ruiru and asked him to meet him in Nairobi for a drink.
