Governor Kiraitu Murungi’s administration is firmly focused on service delivery. No political rhetoric, diversion or calls for early campaigns will be entertained, by way of financial tokens to critics.
The people of Meru will have an opportunity to measure performance and deliver judgment on each leader in 2022, according to their development record.

This was announced by Meru Chief of Staff Hon. Gideon Kimathi, who also reiterated that Governor Kiraitu’s government did not fire any employee, employed in the County Government under former Governor Peter Munya.

He added that the only employees whose jobs were terminated were those whose non-renewable contracts had expired. He further noted that as evidence of this, many residents from Igembe region who were employed in the previous regime are still serving under the current County Government in similar positions or have been promoted, e.g. Director for Trade, Kagwiria Murega.

Hon. Kimathi said that the County Government has already drawn development plans for the County, and it is on the implementation phase, which some political competitors are trying to fight in order to derail the Governor’s agenda of Making Meru Great. Hon. Kimathi spoke at Maili Tatu Catholic Church during the church fundraiser where he was invited by Ms. Kagwiria Murega, the County Director of Trade. Kagwiria Murega was Sub County Admin in the former regime under Governor Munya.

The Chief of Staff was accompanied by CEC member for Health Misheck Mutuma, Igembe Central Sub County Admin Juliana Mugure, Imenti North Sub County Admin Anderson Kathendu, Igembe North Sub County Admin and member of Miraa Report Implementation Technical Committee Joseph Mutharimi, several ward admins, Njia Ward MCA Hon. Isaiah Kanyaru, Hon. Romano Mwito of Kangeta, Hon. George Muthuri, Maua Ward, and Hon. Josphat Mugambi of Kanuni Ward.
