The comedian Njugush real name Timothy Kimani Ndegwa was born to Rev. Benard Ndegwa and Jane Njambi in 1991, in Meru County. He is the firstborn in a family of two sons. Interestingly, Njugush’s brother, Ngugi Ndegwa, is a poet, scriptwriter, author, and also an actor.

The Kenyan comedian was first featured on Hapa Kule News, a comedy program that was aired on NTV in 2013. He later moved to The Real Househelps of Kawangware where he found his breakthrough.

Career

Njugush was first auditioned as an actor at Kenya National Theatre, three days after completing secondary school. Upon joining KIMC, he went on to become the host of a reggae show on ECN, a TV channel belonging to the institution.

In 2013, Abel Mutua contacted him for a role in Hapa Kule News, a comedy program, which aired on NTV. He rose ranks to become the program’s creative director. Later, he was featured on The Real Househelps of Kawangware as one of the main characters, but left after two years.

After leaving the show, he started a standup comedy dubbed Through Thick and Thin and Dereva Series, which he posted on his YouTube channel. Currently, his content is available on his website, njugush.co.ke.
