You might have seen Mwananchi Credit adverts on TV with Jalan’go as their brand ambassador. Or their animated character “Sospeterson” who uses humor to portray the affordability and accessibility of the company’s services.
To most, the company seems to be a new one but it has been in existence for the past 11 years offering secured loans and a suite of micro-finance lending products.
The company was established in 2010 trading under the name Mwananchi Microlink Limited but in 2012, the name was changed to Mwananchi Credit Limited.
The marketing prowess behind their product design and promotion is brilliant and has played a significant role in differentiating the company from other microfinance companies.
Mwananchi Credit has also grown to become a leading logbook loan provider in Kenya.
Who owns the Mwananchi Credit?
The company is owned by Dennis Mambo who is the current CEO.
Some years back, the company was not quite known but under the leadership of Dennis Mombo and other directors, it has grown to become a household name.
The company’s brand awareness has also gone through the roof hence being able to attract more customers.
Little is known about Mombo’s journey to success but resilience is something you can’t miss to highlight about him.
In 2019, the company bagged the award of being the topmost logbook loan financier. 2020 was also a big year for the company as it managed to acquire three awards namely;
· The topmost credit microfinance in logbook financing.
· Best credit institution using tech-based solutions.
· The topmost logbook based financier.
Mwananchi Credit’s vision is to be the top lender in logbook loans. However, with the look of things, the company has already attained this vision and only the sky is the limit for it.
