Gava Mkononi App is expected to bring over 5,000 government services under one roof allowing Kenyans to conveniently access critical government services in the comfort of their homes.
Other goals, the platform seeks to achieve include increasing revenue collection by minimizing leakages, a headache that has existed with the manual collection of taxes.
The app can be downloaded online before a user progresses to creating an account by inputting the necessary information.
Some of the required crucial details are the name of the user, National Identity Card, email address, and phone number.
One can register either as a citizen, foreigner, or resident using the platform.
Once registered, Kenyans can browse through the numerous government services.
Kenyans can pay for all services via mobile money and debit cards.

Some of the services offered on the Gava Mkononi include those offered by the Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Revenue Authority, Hustler Fund, National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), and the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

Also, business registration services, police clearance, civil registration services, foreign nationals’ initial registration, and the directorate of immigration services will also be made available.

Last December, the government announced that all payments for government services shall be made through the E-citizen portal.
Ruto said Kenyans should be able to pay for government services from the comfort of their homes without necessarily going to places physically.
He said digitization is already making huge strides to seal loopholes in matters collecting tax.
Ruto also announced that the government will shut down over 1,000 pay bills for government services in the next 90 days.

He unveiled one PayBill, 222222 to be used for all government services.
The President said there is a problem with the many pay bills that are available and cannot be accounted for.
