Deputy President William Ruto has surprised many after he sent a message of condolences at midnight, Kenyans who were also awake are questioning why the second in command is not asleep yet.
Even though the social media pages of such caliber of people are managed by professionals, Ruto’s page has been consistently used to send condolences.
William Ruto on Wednesday night mourned with Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi who lost his dad on Tuesday morning. Ruto described the late as a community leader and promoter of peace.
“We have lost a devoted, progressive, and hardworking man who served the community with diligence. Mzee Abel Gongera was God-fearing, a promoter of peace, unity, and education. He was a role model to many,” said Ruto.
What usually gets the attention of Ruto’s followers is how he describes those he mourns, he says every detail of the late in a manner that suggests that he was close to them. Despite receiving criticism for the late-night message he is also told off for knowing everyone who passes away
“Ah William, unataka kusema unajua hawa watu wote? Everything you post messages of condolences by describing them as this and that. May he RIP ,”
