With less than two years remaining before the 2022 general elections, politicians from different regions have been running up and down to try and find amicable solutions to their deteriorating political careers. Politically active individuals and those who are inactive have been moving around to try and cement their 2022 Chances.
The movements have involved the shifting of political parties with members joining new parties and alliances to boost their chances ahead of the 2022 polls.
One man who has now officially moved parties is former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu. The vocal politician has been out of active politics for the past few months after he was impeached as the governor of Kiambu.
The man Famously known as Baba Yao has now been officially welcomed back to the Kanu party after months of rumors and whispers. Waititu had moved to quash reports that he had quit the Jubilee party a few months ago claiming he remained a strong member of the party.
However, after months of silence, the Former Embakasi legislator has now confirmed his position in the Kanu party. Speaking earlier today in City park Nairobi, Waititu thanked Gideon Moi for giving him the opportunity to lead BBI campaigns in Nairobi for Kanu.
According to Waititu, the party is planning to launch a strong presidential campaign in 2022 and take the country back to its glory days. His statements were backed by Isiolo legislator Abushiro Halake and Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja.
He however remained tight-lipped on which position he will vie for when 2022 comes.
