The National Management Committee (NMC) of the Jubilee Party sat and resolved to kick out the Deputy President William Ruto from the Party leadership, reports the Standard.
DP Ruto is the Jubilee Party leader. It is not clear when NMC sat and approved his ouster.
In its scheduled Tuesday reporting, the Standard reports that the NMC ruling is currently active and it is waiting for President Uhuru Kenyatta to convene an NEC meeting that will seal the fate of the Deputy President at the top leadership post of the ruling Jubilee Party.
“National Management Committee discussed and resolved to remove the DP as per the party constitution. The matter is active, we have the recommendation and now only waiting for the party leader to convene an NEC meeting to deliberate on the matter,” Tuju told the Standard.
The reports comes a day after Tuju hinted on the ouster of the DP to a local daily.
The developments comes at a time when the Deputy President is experiencing a fractured relationship with his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta despite having teamed up in 2013 and 2017 to send home veteran politian and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The messy relationship has resulted in the DP being sidelined in the implementation of Government projects with some of his roles being assigned to the CS for Interior Fred Matiangi.
