The political battle continues to intensify in the country as the leaders are preparing for the next election. The race which is likely to be between two horses; Raila Odinga and William Ruto are likely to create a lot of heat in the political arena.
Currently, the ruling party, Jubilee is facing political turmoil that DP must come out to address before facing his fierce opponent in the ballot box. With no doubt, the DP is so much determined to get into State House and will do everything possible to secure victory.
On the other side, the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has not declared his stand. It is still not clear if he will run for the presidency or he will endorse and support a different candidate.
A lot of pressure is on Raila to drop his presidential ambitions and support another candidate. It is believed that this is the only way he can defeat William Ruto.
There are chances that President Uhuru Kenyatta will support Raila Odinga but it is not guaranteed that he will mobilize all the central region people to vote in the ODM party leader.
Kikuyu leaders are divided. With some supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta and some give their support to The DP; the Tangatanga and Kieleweke team.
Things might not be easy for the opposition leader if he decides to face DP head on in the election. However, he may have a smile on his face if he endorses another candidate.
In the recent few weeks, there were reports that Baringo Senator Gideon Moi might be brought forth to face the DP. If at all this happens, then Ruto doesn’t have a chance in the world of politics.
The rift valley votes will have to be divided between the two leaders. Other regions will support Moi as he will be endorsed by both Uhuru and Raila. This will be a painful humiliation to the DP since he will be betrayed by his own boss whom he fully supported in two presidential elections.
As it has always been the norm, the Nyanza region will support whoever Raila endorses and the majority of them will vote in Moi. If Raila supports Moi for the presidency, Mount Kenya voters who had a bad attitude about the opposition leader may change their minds and consider him.
The game of who gets what,when and how continues to rock the country and more friendship and enmity are yet to be created as time unfolds.
