Senator Sakaja: There have been reports that the handshake between President Uhuru and Raila is not doing well and could be headed for a collapse soon.
This became public when allies of Raila Doing had a few days ago launched attacks at some allies of President Uhuru for trying to frustrate the Former Prime minister’s presidential ambitions by using the BBI to plot for the 2022 elections.
There is a feeling among allies of Raila that key state operatives are not in favour of Raila Odinga succeeding Uhuru but rather the new One Kenya Alliance composed of Gideon Moi, Kalonzo and Mudavadi.
Nairobi senator Sakaja has finally reacted to the looming betrayal in the handshake camp and has delivered bad news to Raila after he has predicted the end of the handshake.
Speaking with KTN News CrossFire yesterday where he faced off with Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wa, Sakaja revealed that the handshake was not going to last till 2022.
According to Sakaja, the handshake between Uhuru and Raila had nothing to do with the 2022 succession politics.
Sakaja insisted that Uhuru and Raila have made it public that their agreement did not centre on the 2022 succession politics.
He therefore dismissed rumors that Raila’s ODM was being played by Uhuru.
This revelation by Sakaja who is a key ally of Raila that the handshake will not live past 2022 is a blow to the Former Prime minister and his supporters who might have hoped for an endorsement from President Uhuru.
