SALLY BOLO PULLS OUT OF FKF RACE, SAYS CURRENT ENVIRONMENT TOO HOSTILE FOR FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS

Gor Mahia FC treasurer Sally Bolo says she will not present her nomination papers to bid for the position of NEC Women Representative, until a pending case involving Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is determined.

The federation has lodged a case with the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT), in which it seeks to compel the Sports Registrar to allow it conduct elections in line with its constitution as opposed to the Sports Act.

In a press statement she released on Friday, Bolo casts aspersions on the forthcoming elections by pointing out that the disputes before court do not bode well for football, and rob the sport of a much needed tranquil aura to thrive.

“…in view of the protracted and injurious litigations surrounding these polls, I wish to refrain from presenting my nominations papers for the current round. This decision is premised on a firm belief that for meaningful change and progress to be realized in football, all stakeholders must pull in one direction.”

Bolo was in the race alongside two other contestants Kerubo Momanyi and Margaret Omondi.

“My hope and belief is that amicable ending to the dispute surrounding these elections will be arrived at and football will win in the end.”
