RESILIENT GOR OVERCOME A STUBBORN NAIVAS SIDE IN A TOUGH FKF CUP MATCH

Local soccer giants Gor Mahia came twice from behind to see off Naivas 3-2 in a FKF Cup round of 32 match at the MISC Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, February 16, 2020.

Kingsley Owuor put Naivas ahead in the 12th minute but Gor Mahia’s Dickson Ambundo levelled the scores in the 40th minute. Naivas were ahead again a minute later after Rashid Hassan netted in the 41st minute, proceeding to the dressing room with an advantage at break.

Gor Mahia came back fiery after restart, dominating most of the play. Lawrence Juma restored parity in the 69th minute before Boniface Omondi’s goal in stoppage time enabled the KPL reigning champions to book a date with Posta Rangers in the round of 16.
