While being interviewed for the position of the Chief Justice at the Supreme headquarters in Nairobi, renown lawyer Philip Murgor has disclosed that Court of Appeal judge Justice Agnes Murgor is his wife.
Murgor disclosed that he met Agnes whole he was serving under the State Council under the office of the Attorney General many years ago.
Murgor’s Wife Agnes K. Murgor was born on 15th August 1963 to Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Guy Muli. Her father the late Justice Mathew Guy Muli, a distinguished Kenyan jurist served as Legal Counsel to the East African Community, Judge of the High Court, Judge of the Court of Appeal, Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya, and finally retired to private practice, before his passing in 2004.
Greatly inspired by her father, she joined the University of Buckingham to study law obtaining her honours law degree in 1987 after only two years of study. She did her pupillage at the firm of Dentons Hamilton Harrison and Mathews and was admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 1987.

Cherono 21, has followed her parents’ footsteps and is in her third year studying law at the University of Manchester (UK). Kibet 17, is pursuing his ‘A’ Levels, while Chemeli 13, is in Class Seven at Kianda School.
Agnes has raised her children to have self-confidence, and to strive to achieve their goals, as nothing comes easy.
Lawyer Philip Murgor, who is among the candidates to be interviewed for the Chief Justice position, now wants DCJ Philomena Mwilu not to be among the JSC panel that will interview them.
Murgor wants Mwilu to disqualify herself from the interviewing process for both the CJ and judge and of the Supreme Court positions.
