President Uhuru Kenyatta had caused a spur online after a statement that he took at the burial of Mama Hannah Mudavadi on Saturday evening.
The burial which was mainly characterized by political hullabaloos saw the deputy president Dr. William Ruto on the receiving end as most leaders trolled the hustler’s clerk.
Leaders led by the Kakamega senator Hon Cleophas Malala and the COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli lectured the president for what they alleged playing cool despite sheer disrespect from the deputy president and his minions.
“I would like to ask the president to also take charge of his party and ensure that all of them are in the handshake. His party is still divided on the handshake and some leaders are disrespecting him.
You are the chief commander of the armed forces, use your rod (rungu) to restore order in your party!” the youthful senator boldly told Uhuru.
On raising to speak, the president first warned the two leaders against lecturing him saying that he knows what he is doing. According to him, the calmness does not mean he is not in control of the Jubilee party. “Usione simba amenyeshewa ukadhania ni paka!” he told Atwoli and Malala.
Finally, Uhuru sent a word to the Tangatanga faction led by their master William Ruto citing their end of year event at Msambweni. According to Uhuru, most of the Tangatanga leaders blasted him on that day saying Kenyans are tired of the Kenyatta family.
According to the president, it is indeed time that kenyans should get a president from another tribe and not Kikuyu and kalenjin. “Kuna jamii mbili tu za Kenya ambazo zimetawala. Labda ni nafasi ya jamii nyingine kutawala!” Uhuru stated.
Hours later, the Kapsaret member of parliament Oscar Sudi took a statement to his Twitter account faulting the statement by president Uhuru.
According to Oscar Sudi, the president should have noted the hustler’s nations point which was, ‘Kenyans are tired of the one family’ and not tribe.
