Mwendwa’s Excellent Work Should Earn Him A Second Term – Mayakula

Mwendwa

Nick Mwendwa deserves a second term in office as Football Kenya Federation president to continue with the marvelous job he has done so far.

FKF North West Rift Branch Secretary Francis Mayakula has commended Mwendwa for working painstakingly to enhance the quality of the sport in the country from the time he took charge of the national office four years ago.

“President Nick Mwendwa has achieved so much for football in Kenya over the last four years and if handed a second term he will continue to raise the bar in football in Kenya,” continued Mayakula.

While encouraging those seeking to join the presidential race to do so because it was their constitutional right, Mayakula insisted that Mwendwa had already demonstrated his intellectual capacity to tackle all sorts of challenges associated with football management.

“In my opinion, The federation needs a leader with the mental capacity to manage it and support from all Kenyans,” said Mayakula.

Mwendwa’s administration delivered on its pre-election pledge by re-introducing the Women Premier League and Women Division One league which have both offered appropriate platforms for nurturing and scouting emerging female footballers.

The federation has also secured league sponsorships, including landing an Sh90 million deal with betting firm Betika that will see each of the 20 teams in the National Super League (NSL) get Sh750,000 per season and key football equipment such as balls and nets.

Betika will also be the sole and official grassroots football partner for FKF with Sh45 million going directly to financing grassroots football activities across the country.
