Musonye, Aduda, Mbarak And Shollei Craft A Super Alliance To Kick Mwendwa Out Of Office

Four Football Kenya Federation (FKF) presidential front-runners have cemented an alliance to dispatch Nick Mwendwa and his team home.

Speaking during a press briefing at a Nairobi hotel on Tuesday, the four Nicholas Musonye, Twaha Mbarak, Lordvick Aduda, and Sammy Shollei introduced what they described as a ‘Super Alliance’ that will front a single candidate to battle it out with the incumbent .

They appealed to the government and the world football governing body, Fifa, to come up with clear guidelines for the next elections.

“We (the four of us) will sit down and agree on who will be president, deputy president, and other seats. What I know is the current office cannot organise proper elections so we demand a caretaker committee be formed to oversee fresh polls,” said Musonye.

The development took place even as Mwendwa met FKF branch bosses in a ‘Post Covid-19 planning meeting’ in Nairobi, in what appeared to be a veiled campaign.

FKF County and national elections have been trashed on two separate occasions by the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) within a record span of six months, SDT chairman John Ohaga ruling in both cases that the polls fell short of meeting the threshold of a free and fair exercise.

“Today is not the day for endorsing anyone for any seat. We first want to unite and push stakeholders into conducting free and fair elections,” said Mbarak.

Aduda, said that Mwendwa, Herbert Mwachiro, and Sam Nyamweya had snubbed invitations to be part of the forum.
