Friday Nights are mostly considered the best nights in a week. This is usually so because most of the time people find ways to relieve themselves of their weekdays’ stress as they usher in the weekend.
However, this Friday night appeared to be exact of that after Kenyans finally realized that the game they had been waiting for, the first game played after the resumption of Champions League, could not be aired in their subscribed channels.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen appeared to be among those people who were greatly disappointed with the move by DSTV Kenya to lock them out. The most frustrating issue according to the Senator is that their customers care service is very unresponsive to its customers.
“Who else thinks @DStv_Kenya is the most difficult company to deal with and the most unresponsive to its customers?” Murkomen posed.
Kenyans joined Senator Murkomen and rained fire on DSTV Kenya with some even threatening to opt-out and purchase other decoders. Here is what they said:
Philip: So they think #Compact viewers have no right to watch a single game of Champions League. Too awful. Am buying @Startimes decoder tomorrow. No wastage of resources.
Siron jnr: I’ve been a subscriber since 2015, premium package 10400ksh per month, then change to compact 2500ksh plus extra view but today being the first day of Uefa since March they switched off SS5 from my decoder making sure I won’t enjoy champion league! @DStv_Kenya why!
Footman: That is monopoly dictatorship, it’s time they are kicked of the Kenyan market, and we source from SKY SPORTS DIRECTLY and that’s what the middle east is doing from the source.
Adonis: They are very very useless. Their app is the worst app I have ever used. I rather use an app riddled with viruses than using DSTV Now.
Masisah Vincent: A disgrace to Kenyan customers. Most leagues have ended. Why should they restrict UCL to only ss5 and ss6 channels only? Why not I ss3, ss7, ss8, ss9 and SS10 which are free airing replays? There is a pandemic. massive job losses, why not air matches in affordable packages?
