After spending close to four hours with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission sleuths for questioning over the alleged multi-billion Covid-19 funds scandal, Jubilee vice-chairman now demands that Deputy President William Ruto be summoned.
According to the Star, the outspoken Murathe has also implicated former Senators Johnston Muthama ( Machakos), Boni Khalwale ( Kakamega), TV talkshow host Tony Gachoka and blogger Robert Alai in the scandal.
Murathe was summoned by EACC after it emerges that he is a signatory in one of the companies said to have benefited from the multi-billion tender by the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency.
While standing with his recent comments during an interview with Citizen TV where he implicated Dr Ruto, Murathe maintains that the DP should also be summoned so that he can shed some light on what he knows about the Kemsa scandal.
” I came here to present the evidence today and I expect that very soon they will also be calling the Deputy President to make his statement in regards to what he knows about the association with his partners and Kilig,” Murathe said as quoted by the Star.
According to the former Gatanga MP, he has enough evidence that some of the DP’s allies have benefited from the alleged scandal.
