Mt Kenya spokesman: The 2022 succession politics is fast approaching and politicians seem to be Keen on playing a stellar role in deciding who takes over from President Uhuru Kenyatta who will be bowing out of office after serving his two terms as per the 2010 Constitution.
And one of the questions that have been popping up in the President’s succession in Mt Kenya with various politicians coming out.
One of them is national assembly speaker Justin Muturi, coronated today as he seeks to be Mt Kenya spokesman.
And now, Jubilee Party vice chairperson David Murathe has come out to trash Justin Muturi’s steps as he revealed that the national assembly speaker will not be Mt Kenya community spokesman in 2022.
According to Murathe, the community already decided on the official Mt Kenya spokesperson during president Uhuru Kenyatta’s meeting with Mount Kenya leaders at Sagana state lodge in Nyeri county a few months ago.
As Reported by the Saturday NAIROBIminiBLOGGERS, He says the community chose President Uhuru Kenyatta to be the spokesman of the community after 2022.
“We cannot have another spokesperson when president Uhuru Kenyatta is already there. Muturi was in Sagana meeting where the whole community agreed that whether the president is in office or not, he will remain the spokesman of Mount Kenya,” Murathe said.
At the same time, the vocal Jubilee Party politician has come out to spill the beans on what Justin Muturi’s secret plan is saying that the speaker’s moves are calculated with a secret goal in mind: that he is aiming to be the vice president because Mt Kenya region would go for the position for whichever candidate it supports for the presidency.
“… what is informing Muturi’s moves is the feeling in Mt Kenya that we are all lining up to be running mates of either Raila Odinga, William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and so on,” he revealed.
