Sabina Chege is the two-term Murang’a County Women Representative. She rose to the national limelight while she worked for Kameme FM and KBC back in the ’90s.
Chairperson of the Departmental Health Committee in the current parliament seating. “Tata wa County” as she is mostly referred to is currently the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Health Committee and is one of the alumni of the University of Nairobi.
About Sabina’s private life, she is happily married and has been blessed by three kids. The Murang’a County Women Representative is married to Maina Gathito who is the former Dairy Board acting manager.
This clears the controversy that arose during the burial of Kikuyu legendary artist John DeMathew whereby many thought that Sabina was the wife to DeMathew.
This was after Sabina Chege acted as Demathew’s wife in one of his love songs.
The two met in 2013 while Sabina Chege was campaigning for the first time as a Women Representative. Sabina had gone to buy a car in Maina’s car yard as she prepared for the 2013 elections but she did not have enough money to pay for the car.
It is from hearing that the two were frequently meeting thus later turned into a marriage. Sabina was married as the second wife by Maina.
