KANU has suffered a big blow after Isaac Ruto Chama Cha Mashinani drops it’s 2022 endorsement just days after endorsing him. The party statement has refuted claims of endorsing the KANU candidate saying it’s misleading information.
In a press statement released on Tuesday, the party said that the two parties only share a common goal of campaigning for the BBI and nothing more. It added that CCM was open to endorsing anyone when the right time comes.
In a BBI campaign staged in Bomet, it was reported that the CCM party leader Isaac Ruto who was in attendance promised Moi that CCM would support his presidential bid .
“The party wishes to clarify that CCM shares a common thought with KANU on the BBI, the party leader’s presence at a meeting convened by KANU on 27th November 2020 in Bomet was purposely to drum Support for BBI, at no point did he declare his individual Support or that of the party to any interested candidate for 2022 presidential bid,” read the statement.
The endorsement attracted a lot of reactions following the competition the TangaTanga leader William Ruto and the Baringo senator has at the Rift Valley. CCM has not declared any presidential candidate hence a hot cake from the two camps.
