Majority leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale has been replaced by Amos Kimunya.
This follows a decision made by the party’s PGM chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In the new changes, Muturi Kigano will now chair the Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee while Kanini Kega will Chair Budget Committee.
Adan Keynan will now be the Coalition Secretary.
The meeting comes amid widening rift between Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto.
Last week DP Ruto hosted a meeting with legislators who have been dewhipped from various house leaderships in both National Assembly and the Senate.
After a meeting, Ruto posted a new logo with ‘Jubilee Asili, Sote Pamoja’ which is different from Jubilee’s ‘Tuko Pamoja’.
President Kenyatta made the decision after presiding over a Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting at the KICC.
Kipipiri MP and former Finance Minister Amos Kimunya was picked as Duale’s replacement.
It was the second Jubilee PG this month after the first one was held at State House on June 2nd.
Duale survived after the first PG despite the purge which has been targeting Deputy President William Ruto’s allies from plum parliamentary offices.
However, indications that all did not well become apparent after Duale accused Kenyatta’s close ally Kieni MP Kanini Kega of collecting signatures for his removal.
It has now emerged that Kenyatta decided to replace Duale after receiving Kega’s petition which showed most Jubilee MPs did not have confidence in the Garissa MP.
