The English Language could be hard sometimes, especially when it gets to mastering and studying some of our days today words we say that seems correct but is inappropriate. So am going to share some tips on words u can use to replace the usual “” How are you””and How was your Night from one of most respected English and Vocabulary teachers Mrs. Jessica Okafor.

Aren’t you tired of the usual,

How are you?

I’m fine, thank you.

“How are you?” These are the three most useless words in the world of communication. The person asking doesn’t really want to know, and the person responding doesn’t tell the truth.

We have been taught by our teachers that this is the appropriate way to greet. Even when you don’t feel like it, you should still mutter “I’m fine, thank you”.

But today, I’m telling you to stop this routine, it’s overwhelming.

For instance, imagine you have a problem that you wish to share with someone, but none seems to be asking the right question. Only “how are you”, you keep hearing from hundreds of people you came in contact with, how then will you relate your problem.

There are better and smart ways to elicit answers from people about their well being without the usual “how are you?”.

How have you been?

What’s sizzling?

How was your day?

How are you doing?

What new ideas are you giving your energy?

What’s good in the hood?

These are the right questions that will definitely elicit a response from the addressee rather than “I’m fine, thank you”.

Furthermore, those that fancy asking, “how was your night?” Please stop it. Try to alternate it with the following words:

I hope your night was great?

I hope you had a pleasant night’s rest?

I hope your night was blissful?….

Stop asking “how was your night”, it’s inappropriate
