The Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who was arrested yesterday while Waiting to receive the deputy president William Ruto in Kisii has finally been released from Oyugis Police Station unconditionally and without being charged in a court of law and he was transited to Oyugis from Kisii.

Deputy Governor Joash Maangi was arrested over allegations that he was planning to cause chaos at the burial of the late Mzee Simeon Nyachae at Gusii Stadium which was attended by several leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

On the very same day, the South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro was also arrested while in the Gusii Stadium with the same allegations as those of Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and he was taken to the Keroka police station.
