Dawn Of A New Era As FKF Secures A Sponsor For Division One League

Sponsorship Deal

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Monday unveiled BetKing Kenya as the official Division One League title sponsor in a 5-year deal valued at KES 100 Million.

The league has subsequently been renamed the BetKing Division One League.

The 32 clubs drawn from both Zone A and Zone B will each take home KES 500,000 annual grant for the entire period. FKF President Nick Mwendwa said it was the first time that the league had secured sponsorship for Division One League.

“This is the first time in the history of Kenyan football that the Division One league has attracted a sponsor and so we are happy to announce yet another milestone as we endeavor to raise Kenyan football’s commercial value,” said Mwendwa.

The FKF president was optimistic that the deal would lessen the financial constraints currently experienced by local clubs.

“We believe this deal, which further underpins BetKing’s commercial developmental role in football, both at the national and grassroots level will not only help ease our clubs’ financial obligations but also play a pivotal role in raising the level of competition in the league,” added the FKF president.

Thursday, FKF President announced that BetKing Kenya would sponsor the FKF Premier League for a period of five years in a deal worth KES 1.2 that will see each of the 18 top tier clubs receive at least KES 8 Million annually.

The official unveiling of the partner, as well as the league logo, will be held in September.
