Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, became $4.3 billion (Sh434 billion) richer in 2019 as his fortune continued to grow on the back of investments in cement, flour, and sugar.
The 62-year-old Nigerian businessman and Africa’s most prominent industrialist ended the decade with a net worth of almost $15 billion (Sh1.5 trillion), making him the 96th wealthiest man in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Born into a wealthy Muslim family of traders in the north, Dangote incorporated his own business selling cement at 21.
If you need the motivation to man up and work hard in 2020 and make a difference for yourself: This is it! Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t make it in Africa.
If you still think there is no money to be made in Africa: This headline should drive you crazy in 2020. Dangote made enough money to pay the Chinese for Kenya’s SGR loan including the kickbacks.
It means for every day in 2019, Aliko Dangote made a cool 1 Billion 190 Million selling Cement, Flour, Sugar and Salt. It means Dangote became a Millionaire in Dollars 11 times per day.
And Aliko Dangote still drives himself home from work every Friday and all weekend. Please be humble in 2020 and work hard. Everything is possible. Nothing is impossible with God!
