Since Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) boss George Kinoti declared to reveal those who were involved in the Post Election Violence in 2007-2008, his office has had many challenges.

During the launching of the BBI referendum at the KICC, president Uhuru dismissed his claims. Kinoti is now facing endless battles from the political class.

Today, George Kinoti made a drastic move in carrying out certain duties in his office. There was a mass reshuffle of top Director of Criminal Investigation officers in the country.

Five of these were just effected by himself and the rest were implemented as a government directive. The Five were from the Police Academy.

The officers were removed after the Police Academy Institution was officially mandated to operate under the office of Director of Public Prosecutions.

Former Kiambu Director of Criminal Investigation boss, Jeremiah Ikiao has been promoted and taken to be the Eastern Region boss, while Jonah Kirui who was the Director of Criminal Investigation boss there has been moved to Western.

Kiambu’s new DCI chief is Mr. Samson Kiptum who is from the Police Academy. The Kayole boss in Nairobi has been taken to Mombasa as a promotion.

Muranga County DCI boss Juliana Muthini has been moved to Taita Taveta. Ali Bure, a former Makadara DCI boss is going to serve in Uasin Gishu.
