Coast Stima stunned their hosts Nairobi City Stars, thumping them 3-1 in a National Super League match held at Camp Toyoyo in Nairobi on Saturday, February 8, 2020.

The visitors opened the lead in the 12th minute when winger Rogers Okumu cut in from the right channel into the edge of the box, before hurling a rasping shot into the far post for the first goal of the match.

Okumu offered an assist six minutes later when he delivered a cross into the penalty area after sprinting down the left flank, catching teammate Eric Ombija well in position to connect his 12th goal of the season.

Okumu could have bagged a brace in the 52nd minute, but his efforts were thwarted by City Stars’ custodian Levis Opiyo who brought him down in the box as he charged at goal after beating his markers on the run. The center referee awarded the visitors a spot kick that Kassim easily converted to keep the scoreline at 3-0.

The win puts the coastal lads at fourth position on the log with 39 points, three points behind third placed Nairobi Stima, and above Vihiga United on goal difference.

City Stars still stays top with 55 points with a ten-point gap over Bidco United who have a game in hand against Muranga Seal on Sunday in Thika. Lineups
