Football Kenya Federation has announced the departure of Harambee Stars Head Coach Francis Kimanzi and part of his backroom staff from the national team by mutual consent.
The federation is immensely grateful to Coach Francis Kimanzi and his departing members of Staff that include Assistant Coach Zedekiah Otieno and Goalkeeper Trainer Lawrence Webo for their exemplary work, dedication, and unrivaled professionalism, which have strengthened Kenya’s chances of qualifying for the AFCON 2022 final tournament
Moreover, the Football Kenya Federation wishes them well in their future endeavors, this even as the search for a replacement to take the national team forward begins in earnest.
Coach Francis Kimanzi leaves the job after he triumphed in a recent friendly match between Kenya and Zambia where the Stars won 2-1.
It will be interesting to see who will take over the job. The job comes with a lot of pressure as both the federation and the football lovers demand results instantly when one gets the job.
Coach Francis Kimanzi: Lack of support by the federation has been an issue in the past. Often some foreign coaches had to leave the job due to delayed salary payments. Players have also suffered in some instances where they have had poor preparation for competitions.
