Kenyans have launched a scathing attack on ODM leader Raila Odinga after his message to doctors hours after they suspended their planned strike.
Kenyans told Raila that he should stop pushing for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and let the money meant for the BBI be used to address challenges doctors are facing.
Angry Kenyans were reacting after Raila asked doctors not to strike at the moment saying that the economy has been affected due to Covid-19.
“We are also in a dire situation in as far as the economy is concerned because of the many months of covid. It is not the time to hold the government at ransom. Doctors themselves take an oath to protect lives. How then do you justify downing the tools when people are dying?” said Raila according to KBC.
Kenyans however told Raila that he should let the billions meant for BBI be used to pay doctors and for the government to buy protective gear.
“The same government which can’t pay doctors and health workers their dues now want to waste 14 billion on a useless referendum,” said Sospeter Waweru.
“Let him surrender with BBI first before lecturing us, after doctors we are coming with our decision as comrades, we must fix this nation together,” said Rickey.
“You should be the last person to talk 14b going to referendum is enough to pay doctors,” said Geoffrey Wambua.
“The same way you soo want referendum to come soon is the same way doctors required the even very basic PPEs as early as yesterday,” said Victor Bett.
“I wish Raila could stop and listen to what he is trying to say. The government has alot of resources to address doctor’s grievances. If you doubt look at how much BBI referendum is estimated to cost,” said Hesbon Wandera.
